Brownsberg Nature Park day tour
Brownsberg is world-famous as a nature reserve. A beautiful day tour!
Reservoir canoe: a day of canoeing on the reservoir and seeing the dam up close.
Departure times and meeting points can change. If they do, everyone who has booked receives an e-mail straight away.
From Paramaribo we drive to the Brokopondo Reservoir to enjoy a fun day on the water, centred on the reservoir and the dam.
On the way the guide tells you about the Afobaka area, its people and the other activities there (gold mining, bauxite (a former activity) and logging).
After a visit to the dam, where you get to know the reservoir, we continue to Ston Island (Brownsweg).
There the canoes / SUPs are ready for our adventure on the water.
We take a close look at the flooded forest, where you get the chance to take photos, and daredevils can even jump from the treetops still standing.
Then we paddle on, past treetops sticking out of the water and the little islands in the reservoir.
There is time to swim, and to fish for those who enjoy it (for piranha, for example, if specifically requested in advance).
We have lunch on a beautiful little island.
Please let us know about any dietary restrictions in advance so we can take them into account.
After this lovely day we return to the starting point, where the car is waiting to take us back to Paramaribo.
Every day from 4 people.
You can find the scheduled departure dates in the tour overview.
