Kabalebo Nature Resort is a luxury lodge in one of the most beautiful parts of Suriname, deep in the unspoilt Amazon forest.
The area is completely uninhabited, so it truly deserves the name “unspoilt nature”.
For many hundreds of kilometres around you'll find nothing but the flora and fauna of the magnificent Amazon rainforest, where monkeys leap playfully through the treetops, colourful parrots swoop overhead and remarkable fish dart away in a deserted creek.

Besides many special bird species, you may also encounter wild cats such as the jaguar, rare butterflies and many dazzling fish species. All this makes Kabalebo a true paradise for nature lovers.

Forest walks
Trek along 30 km of trails through unspoilt rainforest near the river and discover thousands of species of flora and fauna along the way.

Wildlife spotting
Head out by boat on the Kabalebo River for an adventure where you may encounter animals such as jaguars, otters and tapirs.

Camping
Unlike the walking trails, the camping trails lead you to a well-situated forest camp where you spend the night in tents or hammocks close to the river.

Kayaking
With its rapids, the Kabalebo River offers everything a real kayaker needs, including the beautiful views of our unspoilt rainforest.

Fishing
The Kabalebo River is the ultimate fishing paradise, with species including the redtail catfish (up to 60 kg), the anjumara (up to 20 kg), the pacu, the tiger catfish and, of course, the piranha.

Birdwatching
On 30 km of trails along the river, through virgin tropical rainforest, we bring you closer to hundreds of Suriname's bird species. A true paradise for bird lovers.

Inner cleansing
In the peaceful ambience of the unspoilt rainforest, which surrounds you with the beauty, scents and fascination of nature, an inner cleansing is guaranteed.

Mountain walk
A climb to the top of Misty Mountain gives you a breathtaking view over the beautiful tropical rainforest, with its many monkeys, birds and tapirs.

Waterfalls
Revelation Falls: a 2.5-hour boat trip over many rapids takes you to these fascinating falls.
Moi Moi: a small waterfall 15 minutes by boat from the Main Lodge.
Double Step: about a 2-hour boat trip from Uncle Piet.
Misty Mountain Falls: about a 2-hour forest walk through the hills of the magnificent and mysterious Misty Mountain.

Rapids
Krongsula: 45-minute boat trip from the Main Lodge.
Was Wasi: 2.5-hour boat trip from the Main Lodge.
Kilodrie: 45-minute boat trip from the Main Lodge.
Zandkreek: 45-minute boat trip from the Main Lodge.

Day 1

• Departure by plane from Zorg en Hoop airport, Paramaribo.
• A light lunch on arrival.
• A walk from the foot of Misty Mountain to Zandkreek, where you can relax in the river.
• Drift back in the late afternoon, enjoying the nature.
• Dinner to end the day.

Day 2

• After a delicious breakfast your day starts with a forest walk and a climb of Misty Mountain.
• A climb of about 4.5 hours, spotting animals along the way.
• Lunch at the Main Lodge.
• Then you can relax on the pier.
• Dinner to end the day.

Day 3

• Breakfast.
• Then you head to the Kankantrie rapids, which span the entire width of the river.
• Drift back to Krongsula for lunch, swimming and relaxing in the river.
• Kayak back, enjoying the nature and animals around you.
• Dinner to end the day.

Day 4

• Breakfast.
• Option 1: early-morning kayaking, enjoying the nature and animals around you.
• Option 2: a walk near the airstrip.

Return flight to Paramaribo.

The standard package includes:

• Return ticket to Kabalebo.
• Tours, trips and activities.
• All meals, coffee, tea and 4 bottles of water per person per day.
• Alcoholic drinks, juices and soft drinks are available at an extra charge.
• Rooms are cleaned every day.
• Check-in is at Zorg en Hoop airport; you will receive the time by e-mail.
• Check-out is at 9:00 am.

Standard tours including air conditioning

• Main Lodge, class: Comfort
• 10 rooms, each with two (2) single beds.
• 5 rooms with air conditioning and/or a fan.
• All rooms have a private bathroom and toilet.
• An extra mattress can be added to any room if needed.

The itinerary depends on the weather; it and the times may be adjusted. Parts of the programme are flexible. A special menu is available for vegetarians, provided this is explicitly requested in advance.

• You enter the Kilo 3 creek, from where you take a beautiful walk through the rainforest to the Kilo 3 rapids.
• Here you have lunch and relax in the creek.
• In the late afternoon you return to the Main Lodge.
• Dinner to end the day.

Day 5 Breakfast.

• Option 1: early-morning kayaking, enjoying the nature and animals around you.
• Option 2: a walk near the airstrip.

Return flight to Paramaribo.
