Peperpot Plantation bike tour

Commewijne is perfect to explore by bike. It is quiet here, with a completely different atmosphere from busy Paramaribo. The area is home mainly to Hindustani and Javanese families, whose yards are beautifully planted.

Description

A lovely bike ride for nature lovers, with a bit of culture and history too.

From Paramaribo you cycle towards the Peperpot plantation.
Along the way you pass various small workers' houses and plantations before arriving at Peperpot.
After visiting this old coffee and cocoa plantation in the Commewijne district, you explore the impressive grounds of the old factory.
After lunch, Peperpot nature park is on the programme, where you can spot some wildlife with the guide before we head back.
